Ryan's four hits help East Scranton pound North Pocono in District 17 Little League

Jake Ryan had four hits, including a double and a home run, to lead East Scranton to a 9-1 win over North Pocono on Thursday in the District 17 11- and 12-year old Little League tournament.

Ethan Hasenzahl chipped in with three hits, including a triple for the winners.

Lackawanna 12

Sloan 8

At North Pocono, Matt O'Malley, Connor Duffy, Leo Ciullo and Dominic Passariello each had two hits to lead Lackawanna.

P.J. Hart homered for Sloan.

District 32 11-12

At Jessup, Robbie Nardelli had two hits, including a grand slam, to lead Carbino Club to a 19-3 win over Jefferson Township.

Winning pitcher Dom Bordo scattered three hits and struck out 11.

J.J. Dombroski had a home run for Jefferson Twp.

Green Ridge 23

Newfoundland 0

At North Scranton, Sean Padden fired a no-hitter to lead Green Ridge. Padden also chipped in at the plate with a double and a home run.

North Scranton 5

Tri County 4

At North Scranton, Mason Marsico had a home run to lead North Scranton.

District 32 9-10

At Olyphant, Jake Osborne tripled and Mason Black had a double to lead Archbald to a 14-2 win over Dickson City.

Ethan Carey and Joey Castellani had two hits each for the winners.

District 17 9-10

At South Scranton, winning pitcher Colin McCreary pounded a homer, double and a single to lead Abington American to a 22-4 win over Dunmore.

Pat Kelly also added three hits including a double.

Anthony Duboski, Jake Swank and Luke Fayocavitz each had two hits for the winners.

Jordan White had two hits for Dunmore.

South Scranton 7

Connell Park 0

At Old Forge, winning pitcher Cameron Jordan had two hits to lead South Scranton. Alec Mallery chipped in with a triple for the winners.

Patrick Belardi and Ronnie James both doubled for Connell Park.

Abington National 4

North Pocono 3

At Old Forge, winning pitcher Ryan Eckersly gave his team the lead with a bases loaded single in the bottom of the sixth to score the tying and go-ahead runs for Abington National.

Matt Kravitz led North Pocono with a double.

Cal Ripken District 5

At Forest City, Josh Miller had a home run and a double to lead the Waymart 12-year-old all-stars past Wallenpaupack, 5-3.

Delaware Valley 7

Waymart 6

At Forest City, Sawyer Newman had two home runs to lead the Delaware Valley 12-year-old all-stars in 10 innings. Collin Brandt had three hits, including a double for the winners.

Jeremy Yzeik homered for Waymart.

Regarding the headline "pound" it is not really fitting with the mission of Little League or the pledge each player takes prior to playing a game.
