Tunkhannock appoints new principal

Principal named for two schools

TUNKHANNOCK - Susan Bugno was hired Wednesday as principal of two of Tunkhannock Area School District's elementary schools.

Ms. Bugno, who was assistant principal of Lakeland High School, will be paid $72,000 a year. She replaces Pat Mulhern, who steps down Dec. 10, as principal of Roslund Elementary School in Tunkhannock and Mehoopany Elementary School.

Superintendent Michael Healey said Ms. Bugno's start date had not been determined.

Ms. Bugno previously served as assistant principal of Tunkhannock Area Middle School from 2006 to 2008.

North Pocono race has write-in

MOSCOW - The uncontested race for the one North Pocono School Director seat in Region 2 has some competition.

Incumbent director William Sebring on Wednesday said he is running a write-in campaign to retain his seat.

Jerry Maglio is the only candidate on the ballot for director in Region 2.
