50 years ago, light election turnout was reported around the area as voters considered candidates for various county and municipal offices and two state judge positions.

25 years ago, Democratic presidential candidate Walter Mondale made a campaign stop in Wilkes-Barre. He spoke on Public Square to a crowd estimated to be between 8,000 and 10,000 people.

10 years ago, voters in Lackawanna County selected Joseph Corcoran, Randy Castellani and Robert Cordaro as commissioners. Scranton voters approved a study to look at the Home-Rule Charter.
