Voters have granted four Lackawanna County row officers another term in office.

Sheriff John Szymanski, District Attorney Andy Jarbola, Recorder of Deeds Evie Rafalko McNulty and Register of Wills Linda Munley all ran unopposed and had been virtually assured of victory in the general election.

Both Mrs. Rafalko McNulty and Ms. Munley said they want to continue to make documents archived by their offices available electronically and online.

Mrs. Rafalko McNulty, who has been recorder of deeds for 11 years, would like to add electronic submission and recording of documents in her next term.

"I am fortunate and thankful that (voters) believe in me and they believe I'm doing the job efficiently, effectively and cost-effectively," she said Tuesday night.

Ms. Munley, who has been register of wills for 20 years, said along with continuing to convert paper documents to electronic documents, she wants to ensure her office remains self-sufficient and paid for entirely through fees and not county tax dollars.

Of the four, only Mr. Szymanski had a primary contest. He handily beat challenger Chester Cipilewski in the May primary.

Mr. Szymanski and Mr. Jarbola both said they want to spend their next terms working on a project to transition the booking process to Central Intake, which will be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week and located in Lackawanna County Courthouse. The change is expected to save time and manpower, with most of the processing of suspects handled by officers at central booking instead of police officers who can return to patrolling their communities.

Mr. Jarbola has been fighting to get central booking in Lackawanna County for half a decade and looks forward to implementing it soon.

Unofficial results with 76 percent of districts reporting:

LACKAWANNA COUNTY SHERIFF

John Szymanski (D/R) 27,911

LACKAWANNA COUNTY DISTRICT ATTORNEY

Andrew J. Jarbola III (D/R) 29,155

LACKAWANNA COUNTY RECORDER OF DEEDS

Evie Rafalko McNulty (D) 26,523
